Etchings

I received my BFA in printmaking, and my preferred media is etching. I enjoy the processes of etching, as well as the visual effects achieved through them - each process adds a layer to the image, so that a rich visual history is created on the copper etching plate. These layers of history, seen as fine lines, echoes of earlier shapes, and dense atmospheres, are well-suited to the mysterious invisibility of the inner body, which is often the subject of my work. Editions of the images result in 5-20 prints. Mezzotint is a gorgeous, old-fashioned printmaking method, and Carol Sanchez is a master!
